Amazon, YouTube, Netflix, Facebook, Instagram, DoorDash, etc. The age of face-to-face interactions is mostly dead and it's impacting more than just introverts.
I grew up to be incredibly self-reliant, but I now realize how much of a handicap it is because I don't need anything from anybody. If something's not of interest to me, I pay it no mind.
I've become rigid because I never learned to play nice and go with someone else's flow. I almost feel like I need to take improv classes because I don't know how to 'yes and' somebody and keep talking until something develops.
Extroverts have a gift because they have the patience to spit out and endure a never-ending cascade of verbal diarrhea until something worthwhile comes out. Even if they have little in common, the effort alone to do something like that is endearing and a solid basis for friendships.
I kinda wish my mind would learn to just say a lot of nothing until it's time to say something. I always gotta have a purpose for my words
