I must add, person who did it was under wrong impression and did becuase they thought they had done something wrong and were accused of something.
Taze them.
😂 just kidding. I'll say '' I'll leave you to your audience, drama queen'' (male or female gender...it doesn't matter) then I'll turn around and leave, letting them watch me turn away with a 🖕🏻.
They don't deserve my emotional and mental maturity when they deliberately humiliate me in public, knowing it can cause distress and hurt. Leaving is the best decision; they don't get the privilege of using up another minute of my time.

@LilMissAnonyMOUSE what if someone did it by mistake, they were under pressure didn't realize, due to a gross misunderstanding?
@Fieldmaster
While I perfectly understand that all of us can make mistakes, what I would find an issue with is the person ''insulting you in public by yelling at you or mistreating you in public'' because that is not permissible behavior, in public or in private whether it's due to gross misunderstanding or being under pressure. An adult should know better. That lack of control is a red flag. Throwing such a hissy fit for whatever reason is what children do because they still don't have the capacity to reason or express themselves correctly. A real, sensible adult discusses the matter and would sure as heck not want to humiliate another as they wouldn't want themselves to be humiliated either. Emotional maturity is very important, if we don't know how to control our emotions and let ourselves get carried away by anger, it can escalate to worse things like assault. When someone loses control and deliberately hurts another that way, the best thing to do is to disconnect from that person, because by removing yourself, you stop the abuse because they lose the subject of their anger, hopefully leading them to calm down and compose themselves.

Calmly ask one question: “…did you take your meds today?”
Naw. I’m not sure I’m emotionally or mentally in that particular situation. Because the one time it happened to me I actually leaned into it instead of backing away, like most would do.
I stepped closer into them. Locked eyes. Raised my eyebrow and smirked.
Apparently it was enough to defuse the situation but I’m not sure if it was mature on any level. My give a fuck wasn’t present enough to care.

Keep calm and above all don't walk off in a huff. Your walking off is giving them what they want.
Fieldmaster · 46-50, M
@supersnipe so, what do you do? If you don't walk away.
supersnipe · 61-69, M
@Fieldmaster Stay calm, be the grown up in the situation. Chances are they'll lose interest.
Achelois · F
I’d calmly tell them not to speak to me like that and remove myself.
Or completely ignore it.

@Achelois very well and wise!
