How do you deal with someone you love that has a fearful avoidant personality and run hot and cold?

You have to disconnect from the yoyo'ing. It is exhausting, hurtful and confusing af, and it will never work out until they heal that within themselves.

As someone with it: patience and clarity. Make it as obvious as possible that you mean them no harm, go easy on them - as in don't overly criticize everything they do thinking it will push them - they are the exception and you will hurt them in the process, and simply wait. None of us CHOOSE to be like this; in my case specifically, I have never had anyone in my life I could actually trust and was therefore convinced that everyone was out to get me.

Cut them off.

If they grow a backbone they know where to find me

Try to help them become self aware.

You have to find the source of all of that.

The root of all her problems.

Once you find it, fix it, then maybe you can enjoy her company in peace.

Asure them that you will always be there for them.. but they have to communicate their feeling and fears wigh you...

I think they don’t realize it so I don’t take it personally
