Some people are 70s and have less emotional intelligence than 20-30

Sigh

They were never taught about equality or inclusion and most had parents who abused them as a way to "raise" them.

Those kids who survive this either develops empathy, or they develop sympathy. People with sympathy can only care about things they personally relate to.
leaving aside any standardised tests, how would you personally assess the emotional intelligence of:
a parent,
a close friend,
someone you work with,
someone new whom you've chatted with for say 3 hours?
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
@hartfire how do you assess the emptional intelligence of someone? By talking to them and learning how think about other people and how they interact with them.

The same way you figure out if you like someone...by talking with them.
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
That's because they suffer from dementia, Alzheimer's and as they age they lose the desire to have a social filter and they speak their minds.
