Not sure if it's real, but I saw a statistic that said people swallow an average of 8 spiders per year while sleeping.

That was actually published in PC Professional Magazine with the byline "Lisa Birgit Holst", an anagram for "This is a big troll". The whole point was to see how far a completely false statement would circulate.
