Do you ever watch Chris Hansen busting pedos?

I think the people who they catch are lucky cause if it had been the real deal for them, they probably would have gone ahead and commit very creepy actions... But fortunately for them, none of it was real and they will probably never try again in most cases.

No, I refuse to support "pedophile hunters" because they can be - and have been - wrong.

You can't just turn around and say "I'm sorry" when this happens and think that this man, who you wrongly accused, can and will just go back to his old life before you accused him.

That life - and, even that man, are often gone, never to be recovered again.

Just the mere suggestion that a guy could be a pedophile or child abuser has far reaching and long lasting impacts on his life. I've seen it play out in front of my eyes right here on YouTube... I've supported men who were wrongly accused of this crime before and I've witnessed just how severely this can and does affect innocent men, even where charges were not placed against him.

It can take months or even years for a wrongly accused man to come to terms with this and find his feet again - and those are the "lucky" ones... we bury the unlucky ones, who didn't make it that far.

@HootyTheNightOwl home grown pedo hunters yah i agree but how how to catch a predator is set up in a way that they have the transcripts usually get a confession or bring illegal substances to minors

@TryingtoLava I still remember the member of SW who was wrongly accused of being a pedophile, when his only crime was to talk about HIS OWN abuses and rape as a child.

He should have been better protected - because there are men out there who went through rape and abuse themselves. In fact, at least two of my abusers targeted both boys and girls.

@TryingtoLava You can call it "Slander" all you want - but, the sad thing is that people have been wrongly accused, tracked down and even killed because they were wrongly accused of something they haven't done.

Yet, it was only "Online slander" on some website like Reddit or (potentially) SW.

Do you not see just how serious even wrongful accusations or "online slander" can be???

Yes it's bad in cases of mistaken identity. Some youths came to my parent's place looking for someone who raped an 11 year old girl. My Dad wasn't hurt thankfully. They said they'd been given the wrong address...But it could have gone much worse.

@Matt85 Exactly. Sometimes, they don't even stop to ask questions before they act. It could have been so much different for your dad if they hadn't stopped to check the address first or all of you if the mob just broke your windows and threw a cocktail in late at night.

That's why I refuse to support any "pedophile hunters" - those cowboys watch the "good guys" and think *Hey, we can do that*. Then we get problems with people being wrongly accused.
