I prefer walking in the woods with my dogs. Walking on the beach sometimes. Or along the river. Relaxing in my living room occurs at night when I am home. I do not have a fireplace. That would be nice but not doable in my space. The days are too beautiful to stay indoors. And I also have gardening to do outside soon. I could also read on the deck or write too when it gets warmer.

@SW-User All of my passions are relaxing. Thank you. I work full- time. Time off is precious to me. And I bring my interests with me to work. It is all good.

Don't have a pool or a nice home theater, I guess by default it's fireplace but I'd probably pick it anyway.

@SW-User We may not agree on politics, but we both know great classic designs.

I'd love to relax by my swimming pool if I had any. Provided it's at least 24 °C, sunny and it's not me who has to take care of the pool. 😆
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@samueltyler2 Maybe a lot depends on how far in summer you are too and how "heated up" the environment is. There's a difference between first few spring days reaching 24-25 °C and "colder" summer days when temperature drops from 30 to 24. But generally, if there was 24°C indoors I'd consider it very warm + imagine shining sun making it 34°C or so. Neighbours have a pool and they start using it when it's at least 24°C-25°C steadily.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@samueltyler2 But you're right, I'd consider visiting a public pool only when it's at least 30°C and I think most people here think that way too.

@CrazyMusicLover I though you are strongrrbtyan that.

No swimming-pool, no "home theatre" ( though I admit to not having the foggiest idea what one of those is!) and previous occupants had removed all the fireplaces.
I can relax in my small back garden, reading a book if I choose or just... relaxing.
Or indoors, with an interesting talk programme or decent music on the radio.
Or by a walk around the neighbourhood, perhaps on the coast not far away.

None of those in my house. Having said that, there is a fireplace in my house, but I can't think of a single reason to light a fire in what is, a mostly wooden house.

My swimming pool is the Bath Tub, my home theater is a 32" tv that is 10 years old.

Actually, if there were an emoji that combined the LOL guy with the embrace/support guy I'd've used that for you.

I took honors Economics and Math on the mistaken belief I wanted to be either a chartered accountant or an actuary. What a dunce I was. Accountancy and statistics bored me too tears. I flunked out after 2 years (I don't know how I made it that far).

@SW-User Me too, but they have little to do with taxes, which I’m great at, and running a tax preparation business, which I consider an easy way to make a living, especially working for myself at home.

I miss wood fireplaces, nothing had an ambiance like them, specially on cold rainy winter nights in Portland.

More often than not, classic to me means simplicity. Unnecessary adornment is like tinsel: What good is it?
