This will sound strange, but a slow-downed social life. Five years ago our aging and my partner's health issues began slowing down our life styles. Travel became more difficult and less frequent. Going out to eat or events more of a choir. Thought it a real bummer then. In retrospect, it prepared us for us the impact of the pandemic, the lockdown, and social distancing. We listen to and read about how traumatic it has been for so many who had to do it cold turkey, so to speak. So, in a way, I am grateful for the slower transition.

@dancingtongue Everything we know is different than what the generation given us knows..its up to us to change this. To create a generation that still believes in human .(;

The fact that my pension income, although small, is reliably predictable. Many others have lost the larger incomes they thought they could count on.
Trials & tribulations.

Daughter's marriage. They hadn't yet tied the knot at that time.
