I've been picking at a rough spot inside my nose for the past few months, and finally, just now, a flake of cartalidge chipped off, and now it smooth

Is that normals? So now what? Do I keep picking, or is it now completely picked, and I should stop picking at it? I'm not sure what to do, please help me!

@Sidewinder pretty sure, too tough to be skin , and I don't have any other substances up there either ;) ... although it was after cleaning up from hard drugs that the obsessive nosepicking began.
