Bowie because he had the new music.

Not sure I really had any beyond sports folk of the time.
Martin Chivers. Striker for Tottenham at the time.
I remember the summer of ‘76 and wildfires all over the world and an American named Red Adair made the headlines as he and his team were travelling the world putting them out.
I thought that was pretty cool !
Every so often Evel Kinevel would do something ridiculous on his motorcycle around the world.
And The Harlem Globetrotters ! A Basketball team of entertainers who would ‘play a game’, usually against The Washington Generals, their clowning around was legendary even then !

@Picklebobble2 the globetrotters! Nice. Basketball would be a lot more fun to watch if they all played like Gary Payton.

@SW-User something to look up to indeed. The old-timers can often teach lessons you can't learn in today's society.

[c=#666666]Ah, it was Lisbeth, the "food-mother" which sounds more natural in Danish haha. She worked mornings in the children's home I went to, and always did my hair for me. ❤️
She was my role-model due to kindness and love. She worked there because she liked us, not to get paid.[/c]

This stick-in-the-mud, the late Lord Kenneth Clark of Civilization fame. Loved his library, his art knowledge, his tweet jackets, his mindset. Up to a point, of course.

I don’t remember having one.
@SW-User ikr? Couldn't really think of any myself.
Welcome to SW
@questionWeaver Thanks man! I'm used to mouthing off to all the ya arseholes when I'm feeling frisky. You guys are so nice here it's hard to find anyone to talk shit to. New for me.
@Rasputia It is a different interaction model here.
We all can exercise our individual toleration level.
Many also genuinely seek valuable interaction.
Sort of a free market for individualism
Hope you thrive in it

@questionWeaver Don't frequent the internet much. Didn't think individualism was still a thing in these parts. Good to know.

My grandfather

It was between my mother and Emma Peel. Both seemed absolutely fearless and I admired that so much.
@bijouxbroussard great answer. I said my moms too. Grateful for badass moms everywhere.
