I don't think there's a list of things.
I think:
Marry a grown-up, not a 30 yr old child.
Date long enough to learn if it's just words - or they mean it.
Be as reliable, loving, considerate, and steadfast as you expect them to be.
Don't look for a caregiver. Look for a partner.
Don't marry someone if you think searching their phone is a good way to check on fidelity.
