What type of personality/ feature, etc makes a man actually want to stay with a woman and commit?

It's different for everyone. One can give what some would feel is needed and then be entirely rejected. If you listen to yourself, and others, you find what your hearts needs as they are finding what they want as you are finding what you desire.
