How do you deal with people who are willfully ignorant of the wrongdoing of others?

I know someone who is constantly excusing others who carelessly endanger innocent bystanders. Obviously those who are careless are bad enough but but how do you deal with such idiots who rigorously defend the actions with any excuse they can dream up as if somehow it’s always possible that it’s never the perpetrator’s fault.
It sounds like a form of denial; accepting the reality would be too scary for the excuser to cope with. Perhaps they feel or know they are unable to influence the reckless person.
Is the excuser close to the careless one?
Are they in love or a doting parent?
Are they an alcoholic or addict who is in denial about most realities?
Or is the reckless other an addict?
If so, maybe the excuser is a codependent.

I think it's inevitable that the careless endangerment will inevitably cause injury, maiming or death.
It's even possible your friend might see it happen, or might be the victim.
The careless person will end up in prison for manslaughter,
or grievous bodily harm.
At that point, the excuser will get a terrible shock - perhaps enough to come out of denial.

You are your own person and may choose not to deal with them.
I befriend the ‘others’

You just described the US left media. I change the channel

@carpediem I avoid tuning into those channels in the first place.
Why does it matter? People are entitled to their own opinion.

You can't do anything about them. Just move on.
