How should I have react?

I wanted to go bouldering by myself today afternoon and then I met there two people I went rope climbing with before few times. I really set up my mind on bouldering and didn't prepare my mind on climbing in 15 m height and was looking forward to work on my boulders. I talked to them and said that I will now go to the bouldering hall and they kept saying I should stay with them and do the rope climbing. So I said, I don't have my equipment with me, and then one of them said and jumped up to immediately rent it for me from the desk. Then there was a problem, that we are 3 poeple, so one person will always have to wait, and I said for the fifth time, I wanted to go bouldering anyway and they can climb in pair, but then one of them said, she will just use the auto-belay and I can rope climb with that other person.

In the end, I did rope climbing with them and just repeated all the routes I already can as I didn't have the drive to try new ones, cause I set my mind on bouldering. I said 5 times I wanted to go bouldering anyway, the set-up wasn't ideal, I didn't have my equipment, but they always found a way to come up with a solution, so that I would not go bouldering but stay with them. I don't even understand why they wanted me to stay with them so desperately, we could still make a break and drink coffee together, it's not like we were talking during climbing; always one of them was on auto-belay, while I always stayed with one of them, and they weren't missing a climbing partner, quite opposite...

That is odd behaviour. Certainly seems very inconsiderate since clearly they visited the venue as a pair, not expecting you to arrive.

Inviting you to join them is one thing, but why they were so determined for you to divert from your intentions, I really can't imagine.

Unless perhaps it was so it increased their climbing opportunities, without considering that it denied you, your wishes.

I wonder if they would have acted the same way if another climber had arrived, or only because they already knew you.
