How do you know how long to look at a cripple person?

I dont want to be rude staring at them but its rude to not even look at them too right? Like someone in a wheelchair you cant just act like they dont exist so how long can you look at one before it becomes rude?

As a disabled person in a wheelchair I’ve had it happen to me at a certain fast food place where the server thought I was with someone else. People shouldn’t assume they’re not as bright as “normal” people. For all they know they could be smarter than them.
