I'm very curious about the christian wiccan path.

I just ordered a book about it because I'm curious to know more about blending these paths. Because they are so differnt I'm curious to see how they would fit together. You see my background is a mix of witchcraft and christianity because I've walked both paths. I can never sit comfortably on either path alone. So maybe this would be a good fit for me i'll see when I find out more about it.

Christianity and witchcraft (especially in its guise as folk remedies) have a very long history of both complete acceptance and at times intense intolerance.

And of course a lot of traditional folk beliefs and practices became adopted and (where they felt it needed) changed in meaning by Christians (which happens still to this day). Scratch away at the traditional associations of any major Christian feast and you find a fertile pagan subsoil. (This isn't to say that for Christians it makes their festivals or practices any less meaningful or powerful or beautiful, of course).

There heritage of all of us who hail from Europe is both pagan and Christian, after all, and where one has a syncretic approach to our relationship to the divine it seems utterly silly to me to reject a purportedly Christian practice just because it's got Christian associations. I'm quite fond of Gregorian chant, for example; and lots of folks remedies and customs from across Europe often include the recitation of some of the Psalms. (Check out the "Charmer's Psalter", btw, though it can be hard to find)

That said while one can certainly be a Christian witch (no matter what some Christians will tell you, you can incorporate Christianity into witchcraft, especially if some limitations such as refraning from divination, which is really what the Old Testament prohibitions are on about), I agree with some others here say that being a Wiccan Christian seems more odd, because they have mostly incompatible belief systems. I guess one could honour the Wiccan conception of the Divine in a Christian way, (especially borrowing and adapting liturgy, because a mixture of prayer, song, and reading, set within a standard framework, works really well, whether it's standalone worship or as part of magical workings).

Just random thoughts! Do always feel free to PM me about it though :)

@AlicjaMagic If only I could bookmark this in particular, as it's a wonderfully descriptive comment on All Things Wicca (so to speak). Perhaps you should flesh it out into a proper post? 🤔

@funfan I shall put it on my to do list

I am fascinated by the Wiccan lifestyle.

I am a nudist and I love the way they like to dance around things of nature while in the nude.

@laurieluvsit i can't say the reality is quite like such lovely pictures! But not altogether dissimilar either.

Thank you for your message!

I think it would be fascinating to attend a celebration of nature like they have. I went to a Wiccan Temple once in Northern California but they were not in session so I left empty handed :(

[b][c=004A59]It would be a little difficult to be a "Christian Witch" as the Bible states in
Deuteronomy 18:10 ~ (NKJV) "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire or one who practices magic, looks for omens, or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium."
Not to mention that bridging the gap between Christianity and Wicca would be controversial on your end because of the fact that these are two different religions...one of which forbids you from honoring the Gods of the other. By the rules of Christianity, it's a monotheistic religion, while Wicca is polytheistic.

To be straightforward and honest, in my opinion, one couldn't be a Christian Wiccan/Witch any more than one could be a Hindu Muslim or a Jewish Mormon. There are indeed Christians who practice witchcraft within a Christian framework, but that's not Wicca. Do keep in mind, though, that there are people who proclaim themselves to be Christian Wiccans and Witches, or ChristoPagans, honoring Jesus and Mary as God and Goddess together. It's generally rude to argue with how people self-identify, but if you go by actual semantics...it seems that one would rule out the other.

However, that's a matter for you to decide for yourself. If it works for you, so be it. Wiccans/Witches of the many different paths or forms of Wicca and Witchcraft may not care but the Christian folks will feel some time of way about it.

Sincerely, a fellow Wiccan!

The mix of Christian and Pagan beliefs is almost as old as Christianity itself. In some of the oldest churches in Europe and the UK images of Christ share space with images of the Green Man.

As a Pagan myself I personally feel the 2 philosophies don't sit well together. But there are many people who feel differently about it.
Hey, if it works for you then run with it. Spirituality should never be about a hard set of rules. Do whatever feels right for you.

@robingoodfellow I don't think it's my path persay just intrigued by it. Yes I'll go with my intuition.
Most women who follow Wicca see themselves at odds with "Christianity" Wiccan is the "Wise craft" that honors and works in concert with nature. Christians feel (for the most part) feel they have dominion over nature and as a result, nature is presently out of balance.

There is no Christian Wiccan path
RubiesandButterflies · 51-55, F
@Jake966 There is for many, there are many paths.
Jake966 · 56-60, M

It's all made up you can blend it however you want. 😉
I have a friend who is on something like that path. As his god and goddess, he chose Jesus and Mary. I have no idea how that works, but I can maybe ask him.
