Today is a day nearly 6 years coming. I've officially lost 100 lbs from the deepest days of what was likely a depression fueled pit.
Its 76F .. sun's out. I put the to-do list down, Tshirt and shorts on and took a hike at a place with a lot of memories for me. A bit of a view of my afternoon.
My first pic of that tree was taken nearly 20 yrs ago. The two blonde headed boys seated on that log near the root ball were 4 and 6 at the time. They are both as tall as me, grown young men living successful lives of their own. I've visited that spot several times over the years, but I think today is for the last time. Its time.
It looks like a beautiful spot. I think getting out in nature is cathartic, and yes, like scents and songs, places can hold such deep meaning and memories. Congratulations on your weight loss; that is not easy to do. (I know. :) ) I love this next chapter you're stepping into, and I want so much good for you. You deserve it. 🫂
