PSA concerning photographing the eclipse with your phone camera

The general consensus from phone manufacturers, accessory makers, and product experts suggests that, like your eyes, the phone's fragile camera sensors can't be exposed to the light for too long. Otherwise, there's a possibility of damaging the sensor.
They recommend either using a special filter or even putting the lense of the special glasses over the phone lens, or taking pictures in short bursts.

That is a good point. If you imagine take a magnifying glass and focusing it on one point, like when you were a kid, that is basically what goes on inside the phone when pointing it at the sun. I hope you've saved a few phones. 🙏
