Fireball in the sky

So today around lunch I witnessed what can only be described as a very weird 'rumble' from above that seemed to go on for more than a solid minute. Sounded like thunder but just kept rolling on. No break like typical thunder. Blue skies for as far as the eye could see. Thought perhaps a plane or helicopter. Shrugged my shoulders and went about my day.
Well now I am hearing that supposedly it was possibly a meteor that came down. 😧
Any of my other SE friends experience this??

@YoMomma let us not jump to conclusions, there is a large amount space trash that eventually will come back into the atmosphere and burn as it falls to earth.
