Dont talk about aircraft getting old especially if you are American... The damned B52 from Boeing again is over 50 yrs old and is supposed to be flying for another 50yrs... All planes are upgraded updated but there is obviously other reasons why they are grounded @sunsporter1649

@braveheart21 Pressurized cabins make the difference, metal can only be flexed so many times
braveheart21 · 61-69, M
Tell that to the USAF... the 52 is a pressurised plane... @sunsporter1649

@braveheart21 The cockpit area, yes, the rest is not

Flying longer more and more transitions between high and low pressure.. More take offs n landings... You cant tell me that Boeing cant upgrade the 747 in the same way as the 52 @sunsporter1649
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@braveheart21 Sure they can, but nobody could afford one. And two engins are cheaper to operate than 4
braveheart21 · 61-69, M
That could be part of the upgrade... But im guessing an upgrade of already owned aircraft would be cheaper than buying new aircraft... The dreamliner the airbus types... @sunsporter1649

@braveheart21 the 747 is not fuel efficient... That's the main problem
braveheart21 · 61-69, M
Thats why they upgrade... Go front analog to digital... Better engines.. Could even go down to two or three more poweful efficient engines @Convivial
