The Blood Moon

A celestial spectacle awaits many of us. An eclipse called the Blood Moon shall make its presence visible to us in our skies this evening. The Blood Moon eclipse is essentially a total lunar eclipse. Eclipses happen a few times yearly, but the blood moon is a total eclipse. It is a moment when the Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon. Astrologers view this alignment as a special moment when a karmic shift happens, when transformation occurs. There shall be clarity through introspection, revealing truths otherwise hidden, as well as closure for past things and an opening for new ones.

The moon is scientifically known to affect the length of the days on Earth and what causes the tides in oceans to rise and fall through its gravitational pull; therefore, it is no wonder why many moon lovers believe it has a power over humans as well. May this celestial alignment encourage men and women to come together in peace and harmony. With this thought in mind, I would like to share a beautiful song that expresses this.

I did see it, and pointed it out to numerous people.
Didn’t take a photo of it, would never do it justice.
@Ghostinthemachine Amazing, wasn't it? Yes, I know what you mean. I took a picture but I couldn't capture its beauty with my phone camera.
@LilyoftheValley We were in the middle of a game I was coaching and I told all of the kids to take a look at it as it rose about the tree line.
My friend tried to take a photo but it wasn’t very impressive so he took one with me in the foreground to give it “perspective”, but it still looked like a pinkish dot beside my head 😁
@Ghostinthemachine I'm sure the kids were in awe never having seen a red moon until then.

😊 That's the problem with phones when taking a distant object with a normal shot and worse when magnifying it, looks blurry unless you have a potent camera on your phone 🤷‍♀

Beautiful capture 😍
@moonlightlullabyThanks, but I wish it were a picture I took but it isn't, I got it online because when I made the post, by then the blood moon was still about to happen. I did finally take a picture of it, but my phone's camera didn't do it any justice. Maybe next time I can have a better camera to take better pictures😊

I caught this one morning a few months ago
@braveheart21 Nice! Isn't it awesome when phones can take pictures as good as real cameras?
braveheart21 · 61-69, M
@LilyoftheValley thats thing... They are real cameras just in miniature.. Exactly the same technology as in the bigger hand held cameras
@braveheart21 Then all the better because handheld cameras( the good ones) are quite expensive.

this is a beaver moon, can you believe the name?

masterofyou · 70-79, M
@samueltyler2 No that's not necessary just wondering what you used..

From 1982 to 2003

Most of my lunar shots were done using Ectacrome 200 using a Celestron C8 at primary focus T-adapted to a Olympus Om1 slr body all on slides later digitized..

From 2003 to present i use all my Canon D series from 10D to 80D
Still using my Celestron C8 and C5 cassegrain scopes

You can see my collection of telescopes on my page....

samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@masterofyou I have thought about getting a longer lens or a telescope.
masterofyou · 70-79, M
@samueltyler2 the C8 is a 2000mm fl at f/10 the C5 1250mm at f/10 the older orange tube Celestrons were all made in the USA built rugged my first C8 i purchased in 1977 and still has excellent optics...
