Flat earth

I have a friend who is a flat earther, which of course is scientifically false. So i said, I'll buy you a ticket to Australia if you can convince me otherwise. At which point he went on about how the moon landings were all fake!

I was so, we can't be friends anymore, you're crazy.

Why would Australia prove a globe Earth, Australia is on the border with Germany.

The moon is not real, it is a satellite, even NASA admits this.

@AndysLoft holy shit, you're one of them. Australia is a fucking giant island dude, you are out of your mind

@Neman1622 Are you sure? My Auntie Doris went to Australia for the skiing and skied from Australia over the border to Germany.

@AndysLoft Austria is on the border with Germany. Australia is a continent south of Asia.
AndysLoft · 56-60, M
@JPWhoo I see, well that is fascinating, that means my Auntie Doris skied all the way from Asia to Germany. Quite a feat as she is 78.
Neman1622 · 41-45, M
@AndysLoft LOL you're thinking Austria, which is of course, a million times different
JPWhoo · 36-40, MVIP
@AndysLoft If your auntie skied from a country that starts with A to Germany, then it was Austria, not Australia. Two letters make a big difference.

@JPWhoo Is that so? fancy that. Here was me thinking that Greenland was the largest Island.

@AndysLoft The Moon is a "satellite"!

A satellite is any small object orbiting a larger one in space.

The communications etc. equipment put into orbit around the Earth are satellites too, but artificial ones!

Though how the Flat Earthers cope the notion of anything orbiting anything else, I have no idea! It's probably just too difficult for them to comprehend. :-)

@AndysLoft There you go, confusing Australia with Mars again!
