Surprise me with a crazy fact.

The idea that “holes at the Earth’s poles lead to an inner world” doesn’t match what we know from geology and physics. Earth has been studied extensively using seismic waves from earthquakes, which pass through the planet in ways that clearly show a layered interior: a thin crust, a thick mantle, a liquid outer core, and a solid inner core. This structure is consistent with a mostly solid planet, not a hollow one.

The Earth’s crust is relatively thin (roughly 5–70 miles thick depending on location), but beneath it the mantle extends for over 1,800 miles. The way seismic waves bend, slow down, and speed up as they travel through these layers is one of the strongest lines of evidence we have for Earth’s internal structure.

Claims of openings at the poles or entrances to an “inner world” are not supported by satellite imaging, mapping of Antarctica and the Arctic, or gravity measurements. If large voids or openings existed, they would noticeably affect Earth’s mass and gravitational field—but no such anomalies have been found.

So, while the “hollow Earth” idea appears in fringe theories and fiction, all available scientific evidence shows Earth is a dense, layered planet with no polar openings or internal hollow world.

Here is a crazy fact. Genetical speaking a mushroom is more related to a human - then most root vegetables are. Cheers!

@LadyGrace A sauer kraut would be like a second cousin to a mushroom so you shouldn't mix the 2 together. Some mushrooms are also very deceptive like some humans. Some mushrooms can change their looks. A poison mushroom can go from looking deadly to looking perfectly harmless but it would actually still be deadly. Cheers!

@Nanoose They can??? That is really interesting! I sure didn't know that. Wow. You really know your mushrooms!
Nanoose · 70-79, M
@LadyGrace Yeah it is mostly a weather thing that makes them change appearance. But wild mushrooms have been know to mutate. The mutation is in their chemical makeup so it is hard to tell if they have mutated. That's why I am against wild magic mushrooms - its possible that they could of mutated enough to kill a person. Cheers!
I agree, because the earth is flat
@LadyGrace well with the number of people that say their on the edge ...

Besides you know the edge of the flat earth is surrounded by an ice wall and we're under a dome right? 🤣

@NightsWatch I like that first one hahaha that was funny. Very good.
@LadyGrace 😄 thank you

Some people still believe the earth is round... I mean really? What century are you living in... Sheesh🙄
LadyGrace · 80-89
@Convivial Same century where ships don’t fall off the edge.
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M
@Convivial You have problems with Earth being round, Go have cookies.
They probably can't even read through the inner ocean yet... which they only just found a year or two ago.
LadyGrace · 80-89
@Magicianzini Right, that's amazing.
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M
Trees communicate electrically through underground networks. A fungal network "WOOD WIDE WEB" lets forests share nutrients and also send warning signals.
LadyGrace · 80-89
@DanielsASJ yes I've read about that that is very interesting. And they do send each other signals when there's a threat.
