It’s a ton of work, like a full time job. Even with a garden, we’ve grown little bits and bobs, but nothing near enough to sustain living.

@Notladylike lmao it’s a good time to become her BFF LOL!!
We have grown carrots, onions, dwarf beans, strawberries, potatoes, we tried sweet corn this year but some bugs got to them and ruined our crop (the crop being 4 sweetcorn’s lol) so we at least have a bit of knowledge but time, space, and also dealing with weather conditions massively impact this kinda stuff. I mean I could probably do it but I don’t think I would ever sleep lol it would be like go to work / do some farming /go to work / do some farming, it’s just not realistic lol

@GLITTER the thing is we could do it if we didn't have commitments such as mortgage. If that was a fulltime thing. We could do it. Its just too much now
@GLITTER I’ve tried my hand at a few things but there is always something eating it; bugs, birds or possums. You’re right in the sense that yes it’s probably possible to do but would be a full time job in itself.
It’s going to get to the point where we have to do all that hard work to sustain ourselves but it’s rewarding at the same time. Society is changing in a very volatile way.

I feel like this too. Life feels completely unsustainable and the only thing keeping me from ripping everything up is inertia.
@OhIsMe It’s a weird space to be where I know it’s not sustainable but I still participate in life and try and fool myself that it’s an overreaction.

You mean endless shrimp? I used to garden. It was a lot of work and very expensive. You have to buy soul, seeds, weeding equipment, etc etc. I’m older now and it’s way too much for me now

Buy the land and grow pot in your corn fields.
Thats how the farmers actually make money to survive.
