Hi, Very much a UK issue where lots of pollution of seas and rivers is taking place. A petition is being debated in Parliament soon. In addition there is a paddle out event being organised for the 16th May to raise awareness....

@Picklebobble2 The trouble is they are owned by multinationals, not people.

South East Water, one of the most appalling, is 25% owned by NatWest. It expects dividends.

@peterlee If you or i don't do our jobs properly then we're subject to the full extent of the law.
There's no reason why they shouldn't be held accountable to the same standard.

The lack of investment, and concern for people is lamentable.

The UK created this problem with Thatcherite greed. Selling the assets from public ownership lead to no investment in the inter-structure. The strategists in the Labour government are aware of this. But have done nothing.
Partly is this now outside their control due to the instability of on the world stage. There is no economic growth and we have to spend much more money on defence.

@peterlee There has been plenty of money available for investment that has been paid out in dividends instead. Privatising one of the necessities of life was an idiotic idea.

These were built at one every other year from the mid nineteenth century. Even during the War, Ladybower was built near Sheffield in the Peak District.

@sp1dwoOfe221 Protest silently. We were without water for six days, two years ago. Did the rest of the country care.

Beach clean groups. Elect councillors that care for the environment, One local MP does. She harassed Starmer, a member of his party.
