Does anyone notice a change in the smell of the air when you drive closer to the beach?

Salt brine like smell in the air, distinct smell.

Yep. One reason I love being only 2 hrs from the beach. Love the smell and the sound.
I have to admit that i smell this concept from the opposite perspective:

I smell the difference when i enter the countryside, the Bush or the city.

Ive rarely lived far from the sea.
It's s an island...so....🤷‍♀

I don't live far from the sea so I smell it all the time.

oh yeah

or if you're by a dock in a fresh water lake too
@Pretzel brings back memories of going to the hydroplane races on Lake Washington, smell of fresh water

then there was also the smell of burned fuel

I liked because of the cute guys in the stands
