Beaches are free, but our rivers and seas are open sewers as our ruling Conservative party allowed the water companies to literally pour raw sewerage into them through overflow pipes for the last 15 years. So the UK now has the most polluted waters in Europe.
Enjoy! 💦

Never. I can be on the beach in five minutes totally free
Hotchocolatezebra · 31-35, F
@MandyMitchell Why would my cousin tell me that going to the beach in the UK is expensive? She lives there and knows I wouldn't have known even if she lied to me. Only she doesn't know I have friends from across the globe on SW 😄.

[@Hotchocolatezebra its expensive if you don't take your own Water, food, bucket's and shovel's, hot drinks in a thermos flask, cold drinks in a cooler, forget a swimsuit, forget a beach towel or Blanket, if your buying Ice creams, sun lotion apart from those its a cheep day out
MandyMitchell · 80-89, F
@Hotchocolatezebra Ask her! I was on the beach here this morning - free as a seagull.
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
Not directly but parking near a beach is usually very expensive so there is an indirect charge.
HeidiA · 41-45, F
The beaches are free open public spaces.
Yeah plane ticket to Spain
Fatalice · 41-45, F
What do you mean
ArishMell · 70-79, M
Not normally pay to use the beach, though you usually expect to pay for car-parking nearby, and that can be pricey.
I know one beach where the road to it is private so a toll is charged to use that, including the car-park at the end.

Northerner · 70-79, M
No we do not pay . We own our small beach and there are miles of spotlessly clean beaches here.
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
@Northerner own????? A beach is that even possible
Northerner · 70-79, M
@Donotfolowme Up to high water level.😄
Hotchocolatezebra · 31-35, F
@Northerner My cousin said y'all pay to go to public beaches in the UK. She lives there but I found it hard to believe. She kept trying to convince me but nope I refused.
daddybloke · 46-50, M
no beaches are free but if you can drive your car on they usually charge to park as they put roadways etc on
Hotchocolatezebra · 31-35, F
@daddybloke Now I'm confused 😕
daddybloke · 46-50, M
@daddybloke @Hotchocolatezebra the beaches are free to use however some of them the council put roads, bins, car parking areas to improve acess to all those ones are still free to walk or cycle on but when the beach is the type you can drive along and park they charge for car parking

Gangstress · 41-45, F
They are public spaces so no charge. Unless you park. Parking charges are pretty high depending on peak season etc
Hotchocolatezebra · 31-35, F
@Gangstress How much does parking cost?
DarkXtecy · 36-40, M
Been here for years and never been to the beach side.
Hotchocolatezebra · 31-35, F
@DarkXtecy Awww why not?
DarkXtecy · 36-40, M
@Hotchocolatezebra I live right in the central part of UK, and traveling so far to the costal areas feels a bit costly already. 🫤
Hotchocolatezebra · 31-35, F
@DarkXtecy Makes sense. My family and I often visit the coast each year because it's far.
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
Yes, I pay a lot of attention
