It's beyond salvageable... they've been looking into that several times in my lifetime.
At this point, it'd be better to just leave it as the gravesite that it is.
Trying to drag it up is going to destroy it much faster than leaving it there is.
We have everything that we need already to build an exact replica if we want a museum or something.

Like others, I can't see the point of interfering with a grave site and at the same time damage what remains of the vessel except for idle curiosity or vanity.

[@kidsarealright] sorry we must disagree that is the rest place of over fiteen hundred souls who drowned or perished on that night of april 14/15.that is there final restimg place and should reman that way it would be like going into a cemetery and digging up peoples grave
@smiler2012 We do dig up graves, though... we also abandon entire graveyards to mother nature.
If we didn't, we wouldn't have the space to bury the people who are dying today.

@HootyTheNightOwl 🤔irrespective of your point i still find it morally wrong what is being suggested in this question .. the letters r.i.p or rest in peace mean that and let that be the final undisturbed resting place for these poor souls
@smiler2012 I agree that it should be left alone, I just wanted to point out that, had these people died on land - they'd have probably been dug up by now since we usually only own a grave plot for 99 years.

Why? As scrap? It would cost far more to recover than the steel is worth.
Alhtough there are no bodies left in and around her as they would have dissolved away very quickly, the wreck should be left in peace as their grave.

There's a hotel pn the outskirts of London called Theobalds Park Hotel. Many years ago it was a mansion occupied by a merchant sailor and his wife who collected ancient Egyptian artefacts. She bought a cursed mummy back from Egypt and sold it to an American man who decided to ship it back home. The ship he booked passage on was the Titanic. https://www.hertsmemories.org.uk/content/herts-history/places/historic-houses/listed_building/grade-2-listed-buildings/theobalds_park_hotel

Why? Would you want dug up after being buried a hundred years?
Not me let the dead rest in peace.

@WillaKissing the ships disappearing
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
@lonewolflegends As it should. it is a mass tomb.
smiler2012 · 61-69
@lonewolflegends that is another reason too let it stop insitu as raising it would be risky and as i also said of the moral question this would be like grave robbing

Talking about priorities, let us remove the plastic waste first.
We do not want to see microplastics in every human a few decades from now.
