@being It was much lighter here today despite total cloud cover because we have about five centimetres of snow.

@ninalanyon is it considered a lot 5cm for where you live?

@being Not really. forty years ago it wasn't all that uncommon to get ten times as much in twenty four hours. But now we sometimes go almost a whole winter without more than a few centimetres on any one day; the weather has become much more variable. Last January my sons had to clear snow off the roof twice. I was in the UK in the rain then but this time I'm spending the whole winter in Norway, gently falling snow at -5 C is so much better than driving rain at +10 C.
