Concerning the OceanGate Titanic submarine and the future...

This is a short 1:41 clip about the missing OceanGate Titanic.

It's sad that some of these types of ventures are sponsored by unthought out venture entrepreneurs. Yet perhaps more foresight will be given now to the maritime standards now.

This is just one of many pieces of technology that could be of help now. And not the only one at that...

Clip is 2:12 minutes.

I'm all for such ventures. Yet please uphold to today's standards.

This vessel is classified as an experimental vehicle.. Every passenger has to sign all sorts waivers basically saying they are signing their lives away to get on board. No way would I do it.. However you wont find me queuing up to climb Everest, jump out of a perfectly good aircraft or run with the bulls either..馃樂

@whowasthatmaskedman maritime laws are normally stricter than land vehicle laws.

The owner of the vessel that caught fire while the (9?) tourists on board were sleeping got handed a noose to use on himself. The fire was huge news. The law suit never really made the press much.

Not allowed to operate any such vessel again. And with heavy fines, and with civil suits by relatives in progress.

@DeWayfarer Since the CEO of the sub business is on board, he may well not face a penalty. By all logic the vessel is either trash on the ocean floor (and there will be some bits float up in time) or bobbing on the surface with the passengers sealed inside and needing help to get out before the air runs out. Lets hope for the latter.馃樂

@whowasthatmaskedman totally agree with the passengers hopefully being safe.

Yet they already have the equipment ready to bring it up from the bottom there. It's the US Navy's equipment.

That is ALL they talk about today on those talk radio stations.
They do not even care about Trump much, just about that submarine and something about some guy who tortured animals on youtube.

@CestManan I have an interest in all technology.

You'll find me posting about fusion power when new stuff happens as well as computer technology or even string theory.

That submarine had millionaires and billionaires on it. Losing them is a good start.

we need to explore the Oceans a lot more

Like going to the moon
DeWayfarer61-69, M
@Lilnonames actually it's far harder at those depths. Space is a vacuum, zero pressure. Sea level atmosphere is , 14.70 pounds per square inch. While there is basically no upper limit to the pressures.

We are a thousand years from getting to explore places like Uranus because of the pressures involved.
