Does anybody go to the movies any more?

Haven't been In ages....enjoy that big screen and loudness and big popcorn

I miss going to movies. I would have liked to have seen Dune, for example, on the big screen. But, yeah, until we get a better grip on COVID-19, I'm not going to the theater.

I saw Dune recently in the theater. My expectations for this movie were stratospheric. What a let down. Also, oddly, the snack bar was fully staffed but there was no one there to verify tickets.

Next movie theater is >30 miles away from where I live. Pre-covid I used to go there once a month or so, when they showed "arthouse" movies.
I haven't been there in 2021. Not even sure whether they are still open.

I don’t even remember the last time I went to a movie. It’s usually about once every couple of years tbh.

We were gonna go on the 31st, but nothing was for kids.

Yeah, I went last week to see the new Bond film.

Went to 'In The Heights' back in June. 17 people(all masked) in the room.

I went to see the old ghost in the shell a couple months ago. I might go see Dune with a couple peeps.

2019 was the last time.

I went more often in 2017, 2018, and 2019 than I did for several years prior to that. After my son was born in 2010, I had basically just stopped going to the movie theaters.

No. Audiences don't know how to behave. Be quiet. Control your kids. Put the damn phone up. Besides, Hollywood puts out lame junk.

Its been a long long time. The value just isn't there anymore. Instead of paying 20 fucking dollars to watch a movie in public in can just sit at home and watch it on a giant flat-screen TV for free and pause,rewind, get high, and drink for free.
