Maybe it's because our ecological environment isn't as vast but I've never heard anyone here be like "omg look at that super sonic four footed webbed platypus" it's usually "woaw a rat with a long face" you guys seem to know specific names lmao

And we are trying! There’s a big effort for language revitalization right now. My daughter is in an immersion program 3 days a week and at 2, probably speaks it better than any of us.

My dad can speak it conversationally and it heals my heart to hear them talking to each other 🥹
