We locked eyes. My heart flipped in my chest.
It's just nerves, I told myself. Take a breath. I forced the corners of my lips up. I felt as though I was snarling rather than smiling. 'It's lovely to meet you,' I said. 'Thanks for having us.'
I held her gaze. It is impossible to describe Larissa's eyes. The color of a thousand blues. Galactic lakes. The bluest of blue ponds. A blue I wanted to dive into. A blue I wanted to sip and swallow. A blue I wanted to drown in.
