Is Trump legally barred from running for President again by the US Constitution?

I believe that a president is only allowed to serve a maximum of 2 terms.

Ah yes there it is - the 22nd ammendment ratified in 1951.

From Section 1:

"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once."

So unless Trump changes it, he cannot stand for re-election as GOP candidate in 2028.

Yes, but it doesn't matter. The Constitution also says someone who took part in an insurrection can't hold office.

The Constitution is just a piece of paper. The words on it only matter if we have people in government willing to enforce them. But we have Republicans who are fascist, and Democrats who are unwilling to fight back. So here we are.

@BohoBabe Will you make a bet with me if Trump runs again? If I win you donate $1 to the RNC. If you win I will donate $100 to the DNC. You haven't got the guts to take my bet!

@fanuc2013 I don't think he will run again, I'm not even sure he's going to finish his current term. I'm just saying the Constitution doesn't matter anymore. If Trump did run again, the Republicans would nominate him again.
