Bernie Sanders 1988 interview with two mall punks

I love this interview, Bernie asks them what they would change about society and why. He really listens to them. This really made my day. What strikes me about this interview is that Bernie is naturally curious about their thoughts and asks deeper questions. I wish politics would be this civil with different people and politics.

Imagine elected officials going around and asking young people what they think and how they feel instead of trying to tell them what to think and how to feel? It's nearly a lost practice these days.

@ViciDraco I love the empathy shown in this video.

A couple of young malcontents. Old Berny went right to his prey. Never telling them what he is. Started pandering to them right off. Trotsky would have been proud.

@HobNoblin Shouldn't we concentrate on what can be achieved now?

@SatanBurger We should, I'm sure a lot of us are. If people had their own places to be with like minded individuals, that would help.

@HobNoblin I don't think so, it's how we get white nationalists and boomers who are racist trump supporters. Most of them never been in diverse communities, it's why they're racist. They grow up in white neighborhoods and then a lot of the news they focus on is only focused on a few things which creates an illusion that the world is more dangerous than it really is.

People don't need to live in their own bubbles anymore as more and more mixed raced people are around, racists are going to have to get used to different cultures.
