You may be thinking of some other country, not the USA.
The elections are over, and Trump won. We use the Electoral College.
The presidential elections of 1876, 1888, 2000, and 2016 produced an Electoral College winner who did not receive the most votes in the general election.
In addition:
1860: Abraham Lincoln won with 39.8% of the popular vote
1912: Woodrow Wilson won with 41.8% of the popular vote
1992: Bill Clinton won with 43% of the popular vote
2000: George W. Bush won twith 47.9% of the popular vote, slightly less than Al Gore's 48.4%.
2016: Donald Trump won the electoral college while receiving 46.1% of the popular vote, compared to Hillary Clinton's 48.2%.
This is how our Constitution works.

Two-thirds of both houses of Congress can vote to propose an amendment, or two-thirds of state legislatures can request a convention to propose an amendment.
Following that, three-fourths of state legislatures or three-fourths of state conventions must ratify the amendment.
Ask your representative to propose one.
and the ancient politicians wont change it. I desire both term limits and age restriction to no more than 10 years post retirement age with voter threshold exceptions.

@Northwest ok so u claim are you aware of the constitutions text which never uses the words electoral college. Only the word 'electors'?
The 12th amendment
"The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice-President, and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and all persons voted for as Vice-President and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate;"

You do know the popular vote doesn’t determine who is president don’t you?
He won by the electoral votes.
He won by the electoral votes.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@specman I don't care whether they are elected by the people. It's time to get rid of them. The popular vote was ignored again, just like it was the last time Trump was elected. The majority of Americans don't want him.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@specman
he won the popular vote.
He literally did not.

Trump won in the electoral college votes, and the loser conceded. It's over. You'll just have to settle for the economy improving and the chaos around us quieting down at least a little.
Mesthartiya · M
What do you mean "no-one won"??
jehova · 31-35, M
@Mesthartiya barely. she never should have conceded he didnt when he lost. The election was even closer this time we should have had a recount at the least.
Mesthartiya · M
@jehova I hate Trump, but you're delusional. There is no hope for her. None.
jehova · 31-35, M
@Mesthartiya and a recount would prove that. The procedure for election recount is very clear. The requirements were met for it. The electoral college is antequated and obsolete. The moment slavery was abolished the electoral college became unneccesary.
jehova · 31-35, M
49.9% trump to 48.4% harris. In a literal sense no one won.
Recount! Recount! Recount!
Recount! Recount! Recount!
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
It won't happen. Half the country blindly worships that POS.
jehova · 31-35, M
@LordShadowfire just less than half actually.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@jehova Close enough for government work, lol.
