Trump and Biden still well within the margin of error in swing states

President Joe Biden is just 2 percentage points away from former President Donald Trump among seven swing states recently polled, despite the president's dismal debate performance last week.

In a Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll conducted from July 1 to 5, Trump led Biden by only 2 percentage points (47 to 45 percent) among all the swing states polled—Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Across all seven swing states, 4,902 registered voters were polled and there was a margin of error of plus or minus 1 percentage points.

Bloomberg News reported that the 2 percentage point gap between Trump and Biden is the smallest it's been since they began this type of polling in October 2023.

Meanwhile, when looking at each state individually, Biden was ahead of Trump in Michigan by 5 percentage points (48 to 43 percent) and Wisconsin by 3 points (47 to 44 percent). Meanwhile, Trump led Biden in Georgia by 1 percentage point (47 to 46 percent), Nevada by 3 points (48 to 45 percent), Pennsylvania by 7 points (51 to 44 percent), Arizona by 3 points (48 to 45 percent) and North Carolina by 3 points (46 to 43 percent).

There were 694 registered voters polled in Michigan, 695 in Wisconsin, 790 in Georgia, 452 in Nevada, 794 in Pennsylvania, 781 in Arizona and 696 in North Carolina. The margin of error for Georgia and Pennsylvania was plus or minus 3 percentage points; Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina and Wisconsin was plus or minus 4 percentage points and Nevada was plus or minus 5 percentage points.

Trump should be disqualified based on crimes commited.
@jehova There's no requirement for that either.

@LeopoldBloom if obama or biden had been convicted in this way would you be saying they shouldnt be held to account? And it by law is not a requirement hence i said it 'should' be. please read b4 commenting.
@jehova Trump should have been sentenced on July 11 as originally planned and filing his appeal from Riker's Island. But the fact remains that a criminal conviction or even imprisonment does not disqualify a presidential candidate from running or even holding office.

@LeopoldBloom he should be in custody. He not being is a violation of precedent and law. In custody for his own safety. Thus he IS eluding justice
@jehova There's no such thing as putting someone in custody for their own safety, unless you're talking about a 72-hour hold when a person poses a danger to themselves or others. Having nutjobs take pot shots at you doesn't qualify.

@LeopoldBloom his not being in custody pending trial posed danger to him and resulted in damage to others. Thats reality. Try again.
@jehova The trial already happened. Argue with the judge, not me. Judge Merchan decided that Trump didn't pose a flight risk, so he is free pending sentencing. Also, for a first-time offender convicted of a white-collar crime, Trump probably won't get any jail time anyway, just probation.

If you're talking about the other trials, the FL one has been dismissed. In the DC and GA trials, Trump was freed on his own recognizance, which isn't unusual for a prominent person. Giuliani wasn't locked up pending trial either. I think of the 19 GA defendants, only one of them was incarcerated because he couldn't come up with the bail money.

@LeopoldBloom k this a conversation. Im only trying to understand how trump is going to be allowed to escape justice
@jehova He has enough toadies in federal judgeships to make sure he won't face any consequences until after the election, and if he wins, he will order all federal cases against him to be dismissed. In fact, he won't even have to do it, the toady he appoints as his Attorney General will do it for him. The GA case will be postponed until after he's out of office.
