Why are there such old presidential candidates in the US and not many younger alternatives popular (beside De Sanctis)?

Old people are idiots and only want to vote for other old idiots.

ditto round and round. ron paul and bernie sanders were both shafted by their own parties and there is evidence to prove it. there is no democracy, not in the sense of the greek concept. it is a representative democracy, and it is obedient and subservient to the ruling elites.

Most of our politicians are old, like my generation and older. We're to old to be making laws and decisions for people who are past us in just about everything. Our minds arent as fast and sharp as they use to be. I just dont understand why every voter here keeps voting these old farts into office.
