@BizSuitStacy A guy living off an allowance from his parents well into his 40s is seen as good enough for the US Senate in Pennsylvania. It can be tough for a Republican to win on a low-taxes, low-spending platform when half the population pays no federal taxes anyway and is looking for handouts.
