Maui fires, arson?

It's highly likely that the Maui fires were started by arsonists. The landscape and the weather was perfect for such an incident. Remember, we are in a global war and, like the Canadian and Greek fires, the Maui fire would show that no area is exempt from such an attack. The beauty of it is that such attacks can be staged to appear perfectly natural in origin and therefore brings no retribution from the attacked victims. Such attacks are far cheaper than brute military force. In all probability we can expect an increase in such incidents.

There's no hint of evidence yet of arson. You sound paranoid.

@HannahSky I don't have to get burned to know that fire is hot and water is wet. You want evidence but won't look for it.

@Diotrephes at 70-79 this is just becoming sad you people are like this.

@HannahSky Don't worry, I might croak at any minute from one of those fires.

@HannahSky in 2023 has there been any reported "wild fires" that have turned out to be arsonists?

Of course there have been such incidents during recent years.

Charges laid in series of intentionally set Alberta wildfires, residential arsons
"Updated May 4, 2023 11:50 am
Charges have been laid against an Alberta man in connection with what RCMP call “a series of intentionally set wildfires,” as well as several arsons to vehicles, homes and a church.

Cold Lake RCMP, the RCMP serious crimes branch, the forestry crimes unit (FCU) and investigators from Alberta Forestry and Parks and Tourism worked together to investigate a series of intentionally set wildfires that occurred between August and September of 2022, as well as vehicles and structures set on fire in the Hamlet of Cherry Grove in April 2023.

An investigation began in August 2022 into several wildfires in the Hilda Lake, Cold Lake Provincial Park, Ardmore and Cherry Grove areas. Officials determined the fires were suspicious and that they had been intentionally set."

Italy police use drone to catch suspected arsonist in the act as wildfires char Calabria
BY CHRIS LIVESAY
JULY 27, 2023 / 1:00 PM / CBS NEWS
"Rome — Police in southern Italy believe they've captured a serial arsonist thanks to an unexpected hero — a drone. Since early July, the Calabria region has been besieged by a series of devastating wildfires.

A breakthrough came after local law enforcement decided to enlist the help of a high-resolution camera drone with thermal imaging capabilities. According to police, the drone detected a thermal anomaly — a figure fleeing a nascent fire on a motorcycle through a remote field.

"Calabria is a civilized region, but it also has some imbeciles who go to set fires in the woods, like this arsonist we caught yesterday," Roberto Occhiuto said in a video shared on social media. "Where does he come from, the caves?"

"A man who was suspected of purposefully setting forest fires in a remote section of woods was tracked down and confronted by three local residents who tied him to a tree until authorities could arrest him, police say.

The incident occurred on Monday at approximately 1:46 p.m. when the Curry County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting active fires near Mariel Lodge and Rogue River Ranch located in deep southwest Oregon in an area that is only accessible by river or by Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management roads, according to a statement posted by Curry County Sheriff John Ward on social media."

Alberta woman faces 32 arson charges after wildfire investigation
Offences took place over the span of two months, RCMP say
CBC News · Posted: Jun 04, 2021 12:19 PM CDT | Last Updated: June 4, 2021
"RCMP have charged a woman with 32 counts of arson after investigating a string of suspicious northeast Alberta wildfires.

The charges facing the 54-year-old woman from Glendon, Alta., are connected to numerous wildfires in the Bonnyville and Lac La Biche areas in April and May, RCMP said in a news release Friday.

On April 24, fire and forestry authorities responded to multiple wildfires in the forest protection area northwest of Bonnyville and east of Lac La Biche. The RCMP Forestry Crimes Unit determined the cause of the fire was arson and identified a suspect.

Then, on May 27, authorities were called to seven wildfires northwest of Bonnyville. RCMP say officers then found and arrested the 54-year-old woman. At the time of her arrest, four wildfires were burning nearby and a total of 19 fires had been started over the course of a few hours, RCMP said."

Of course, some fires have natural causes but it is a serious mistake not to consider humans as a possible cause as well. In the case of lightning strikes, maybe some very tall lightning rods placed throughout the forest might be effective in reducing the fires. But, some people claim that forest fires are necessary to keep the forests healthy.

@Diotrephes yes, i was asking @HannahSky as she seemed incredulous and busted out the "paranoia" card for even suggesting it could be arson.......despite recent "wild fires" that turned out to be arson
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@gol979 It's a major disaster whatever the cause. The bottom line is that the locals will have to leave the area and the land developers will rebuild with prices so expensive the locals won't be able to afford it. The insurance companies will drag their feet settling claims in order to help force the locals out of the area.
gol979 · 41-45, M
@Diotrephes agreed. Some unverified reports that local and national government are stopping any help to the effected areas. The locals are shipping over food and meds by jet ski, boats etc but are saying the government will put a stop to that also. Insane times
