Is Ilhan Omar above the law?

Democratic lawmakers erupted online on Monday after news that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had raided the Washington-area home of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., blasting the development as an effort by President Donald Trump to intimidate a longtime political adversary.

"The Trump administration’s raid on Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s home is deeply disturbing and raises serious questions about the continued corrupt weaponization of the federal government against Donald Trump’s adversaries," U.S. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., wrote in a statement.

Republicans need to realize that just because they were the recipients of Lawfare, it doesn't mean
that Republicans can use it against them.

Yup
But ALL of congress is

No-one is above the law, not even Trump though he pretends he is.

But we all know from the oh-so-suspicious timing that the law is not being applied fairly in this instance, and is being weaponised for political revenge just days before the midterms.

If you genuinely cared about law and order, you’d demand evidence and equal treatment for everyone, not cheer a politically convenient raid and pretend that makes you principled.

Orange has had a hard on for her for years . For someone who complained incessantly about Leticia James et al , he’s doing the same thing.

@AthrillatheHunt Yes, the Dems started a new precedence. And you can bet that if Dems win the house
next months they will start new Impeachment proceedings.

@DogMan I have no doubt that the tit for tat will continue from both sides . This is our current state of politics I guess .

She is not above the law. But the timing of this action is reprehensible. If she committed a crime she should be held accountable. That goes for many politicians currently in office.

@samueltyler2 The left told us that the justice dept does not take elections into account when
they went after Trump before the election.

So should they have waited till after she was elected? because you KNOW she will be elected.

This may even help her win by a landslide and put more money in her pocket.

@DogMan you have that totally incorrect. In fact, if anything, he got helped by the US Justice department when info about reopening the Clinton email investigation occured right before the election! What election do you day DOJ "went after him" right before it? I think you are incorrect timing wise.

If she gets elected she can still be charged if there is enough evidence. Unlike POTUS who was given a "get out of jail free card," by SCOTUS.
