The United States remains one of the most sought-after destinations for birth tourism in 2026, largely due to its constitutional protection of jus soli, or birthright citizenship. Under the 14th Amendment, any child born on US soil, regardless of the parents’ nationality or legal status, is automatically granted US citizenship.
Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden) do not grant automatic birthright citizenship based on birthplace alone; all rely primarily on jus sanguinis, meaning a child becomes a citizen only if at least one parent is a citizen. This applies across Norway, Denmark, and Sweden, with only narrow exceptions (e.g., abandoned infants). Overview: No Jus Soli in the Nordic Region All five Nordic countries follow citizenship by descent, not by birthplace. Children born in the territory to non‑citizen parents do not receive citizenship automatically.
If you lefties really want to be like the Nordic states, you need to adopt the other things.
Nordic states also fight fraud heavily, unlike U.S. Democrats
@DogMan He’s still obsessed with it almost six years later. He’s the one who hasn’t gotten over it. And you all bought into his lies hook, line, and sinker.
@DogMan The majority of countries use jus sanguinis, the US is unusual in enshrining unconditional jus soli in the constitution. It probably made sense at the time, simpler to administer and a growing population was wanted. The same applies to most American countries but the majority of countries on other continents either restrict it do not have it at all.
My neighbor was a fireman, he told me that they used to deliver these babies all the time. The people would call 911 because they didn't have insurance or any prenatal care, they would deliver the baby and then an ambulance ride to the hospital. Guess who gets to pay for that?
@beermeplease ever seen 2 old Chinese ladies yelling at each other over who gets the recyclables from a garbage can ? I have. It ain’t pretty.

@beermeplease Hang on sorry, you mean "nope" they don't have to attend ESL classes or "nope" they also have to attend English language classes even if their parents are White English, say?
Because our treasonous government allows the anchor babies to enable the illegal parents to stay here and collect freebies, while American citizens struggle. 😠
@sunsporter1649 I did not say that I made a statement of fact. I rarely give a political opinion cuz I don't find fighting on the internet for hours that much fun. I leave that for others
