“ICE agents were trying to use the baby to get her to come out of her house, but the neighbors … advised her not to do it,” fearing she would be detained, Amezcua said.

She described a commotion at the scene, with onlookers telling agents: “What are you doing? Don’t take the child!”
One person pleaded: “There are people here that can take him,” Granlund said. “There was another adult who lived in the home that was there saying, ‘I will take the child. I will take the child.’”
When someone recognized the school board chair, Granlund said, they yelled: “The school is here! They can take the child. You don’t have to take them.”
BTW, it's LEGAL for ICE to leave a child with another guardian.

Now here's a little personal info. Two of my great grandparents were legal residents of a certain European country. And suddenly, somebody with a stroke of his pen, declared them illegal. And they were deported, in 1943, to a "camp" in Poland where they perished. We fought a war to make sure it can't happen here. And yet it IS happening here, dude, it IS.
The only question for us citizens is which side of history do we want to be on. The citizens that ICE brutalizes regularly, the ones ICE has murdered, are OBSERVING and REPORTING on whether or not due process is being followed. And ICE pepper sprays them for observing.
People called Obama deporter in chief and criticized his processes which the criticism was fair. The difference however is Trump is extreme and have stripped away due process for many. Obama was still wrong on some accounts and our system needs to be fixed in a way that is different from traditionally doing it. However Obama and Trump differ widely even though both can be criticized.
Did ice (under Obama) have the same hiring process where a reporter got hired within 6 minutes and they didn't do a background check or a drug check? Did he have ice go door to door asking for papers from US citizens? Did he deport a little girl going through brain cancer and then claim pro life values? Did ice execute a woman driving away under Obama?
Did he have ice agents break into houses and point guns at families heads while stealing their money?

In a different article but talking about the same incident, the mother goes on to say it was mistaken identity and even after the agents determined that it was the wrong identity they took her money while she begged to keep it because her husband was away and she needed it to feed her kids. The ice agents then told her she may get it back in 1 ro 4 months.

Under the Obama administration those who were here illegally were obtained in a quiet basically peaceful fashion. If he had done what Trump is done or even close to it it would be all over the news and he would probably faced a form of impeachment.

Those “solutions,” according to Bondi, included Minnesota providing the Department of Justice with access to the state’s complete, unredacted voter roll, which includes sensitive personal information like voters’ Social Security numbers, drivers license data, and party affiliations. Bondi claimed that the DOJ needed the state’s full voter roll in order to “confirm Minnesota’s voter registration practices comply with federal law.”
That's right, Bondi promised to have ICE back off in exchange for personal info on all of Minnesota's voters.
So the ICE "surge" in Minnesota is not about murderers and rapists. It's not about fraud. it's not about illegal immigrants. It's just a pressure tactic, or perhaps extortion tactic would be a better phrase.
So let's be clear about what ICE is doing. Give Bondi all the personal info on all of Minnesota's voters, and she will "bring an end to the chaos." The "chaos" is intentional and can be turned off at any time. Remember that, @DogMan.
Actually, almost all of Obama's deportations were of people apprehended right at the border; many of them at checkpoints requesting asylum and then having their requests denied.
Here's what's different about tRump's wave of ICE "arrests" and deportations.
tRump is re-classifying people who were legally granted asylum, and declaring them suddenly illegal. Yes, they had legal protected status, and tRump stripped that from them. They only became "illegal" after a stroke of tRump's ̶p̶e̶n̶ sharpie.

@jshm2 Where does ICE operate? Typically, ICE operates inside the US, with some staffing abroad. It's sister agency, US Customs and Border Protection, technically patrols the US borders.
