Did Obama use ICE to arrest and deport?

Obama deported more people, by a wide margin.

Syracuse University’s TRAC and subsequent press accounts report that over eight years the Obama administration recorded more than 3.1 million ICE deportations and that fiscal‑year totals under Obama included tens of thousands of interior removals [1] [4]. Reporting from 2017 noted 65,332 individuals were detained and deported in FY2016 alone, illustrating the scale of removals late in Obama’s term.

I'm quite sure he used border patrol as well as any law enforcement within the cities. And the tactics that is used by ice is from what I can see recommended by Trump.

Under the Obama administration those who were here illegally were obtained in a quiet basically peaceful fashion. If he had done what Trump is done or even close to it it would be all over the news and he would probably faced a form of impeachment.

Trump hates Obama, it has shown for over two decades. Anything that Obama has accomplished Trump has dismantled or is trying to outdo.

Yes Charity, but there is one big glaring difference. ICE did not have to contend with hundreds
of violent protestors hindering them. The ONLY reason it isn't peaceful and quiet is because of
the protestors. Under Obama there were not violent people Doxing and going to the homes
of ICE personnel.

Can you understand the difference now?

I see your point of view.

Obama or his administration didn't announce to the states of the US that ice was coming after them and basically said they will apprehend them by any means necessary.

People knew what Obama was doing, he did it with dignity and when something is done with dignity the majority will not complain.

Just from what I've seen ice came out like the Gestapo and people did not like that in January 2025 by trump's command.

Trump's first term he used ice agents, and it wasn't a lot of protest and chaos from the people, why they were not using gestapo tactics printed in 2019 article by Time magazine

@Charity We really don't have much in the way of video to decipher how illegals were rounded
up under Obama. Today we have literally 100's of cameras filming at every angle.

I'm sure if hundreds of videos surfaced showing ICE under Obama, we would see much of the
same thing as today.

There is a reason that EVERY single protestor is filming. You can splice together a lot of
bad looking things when you have that much footage.

@DogMan

So you're saying between 2008 and 2016 we didn't have many people videoing.

That we didn't have Street cameras recording every angle and home cameras recording.

Oh yes we did.

Whoever Obama was using wasn't being videoed because they wasn't doing it like Ice is doing it today.

Printed in 2020 Source from Wall Street journal ((in case you don't really listen to the news)) tells us in the past decade / meaning at least from 2009-2010 SMART PHONES ARE BEING USED to record brutality law enforcement and that would include ice if they were doing the same as they're doing today.
