Bessent changes rules on Welfare

Immigrant welfare recipients will no longer be able to wire welfare money to their
countries of origin.

This seems like a no brainer, but I'm sure the lefties will say it's A-OK. Why you ask?

Because it is the opposite of what Trump thinks, and Democrats are required by DNC law
to object to everything Trump is in favor of.

Are you talking immigrants who have become citizens, or legal permanent residents? If the former, that is probably unconstitutional. If the latter, the requirements for them to get public assistance in the first place are challenging and lengthy (5 years or more) so this seems more like a solution in search of a problem. That said, I don’t disagree in principle because the point of public assistance is to help USA communities; however, the cost to enforce something that may not happen that much could outweigh any savings.

@SW-User in the case of social security, the issue was that no date of death had been entered because the person died before the database was created. Going back and manually entering legacy data is tedious and expensive.
