Should we divide people by Oppressor & Oppressed?

Will this unite, or divide us?

Don’t oppress anyone and there won’t be any need to divide by oppressor and oppressed.

@JPWhoo Most oppression is based on feelings, so people will feel oppressed
even if they are not oppressed in the literal sense.

@DogMan You contradicted yourself. If oppression is “based on feelings” then there is no objective oppression, or “oppression in the literal sense”. Make up your mind, is oppression simply based on feelings, or is there some objective way to determine whether or not someone is being oppressed?

Oppression is based on fairness. Now people, especially liberals versus conservatives, may have different notions of what is fair, but oppression is real and it is exactly the thing that should divide us. Much better than dividing us by characteristics that we can’t change like race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or where we were born. Oppressors would like to divide us by those factors so that different oppressed groups fight against each other, thus allowing the oppressors to continue to exploit both/all oppressed groups. If one group is oppressing others, then that is something that needs to be addressed.

@JPWhoo I said "MOST" of it is based on feelings. If you FEEL oppressed, you make yourself
oppressed. One can BE oppressed, and not FEEL oppressed. Read about Epicurus, he
was truly oppressed, but he was able to use his mind to NOT be.

But I'm glad that you agree that the division of dividing us by race, religion,
Gender, etc, is in fact oppression? We need unity

@DogMan So what, if I’m being oppressed I’m supposed to just shut up and pretend I’m not being oppressed? How does that create a fair and just society?

But I’m glad you agree that the division of dividing us by race, religion, Gender, etc, is in fact oppression?
Well, I don’t mean that we should be blind to all those factors and treat everyone the same way. I believe in treating everyone fairly as much as possible, which is often not the same thing as treating everyone the same; however, yes, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, and where we were born should not be reasons to divide us.

@JPWhoo Please read Epicurus, and others like him, and you will understand.

Society will never be fair and just to everyone. That is impossible. It's how we react
to injustice. Sure, you want to fight against it. But if you have a strong mind, you
will never be truly oppressed.

@DogMan
Society will never be fair and just to everyone.
No, but we should still strive to be as fair and just as possible. Just because we can’t be perfect doesn’t mean we can’t be better.
