Are Democrats upset at Government audits?

It seems like the Government loves to audit private citizens and private business, but when
THEY get audited by the people, they act like the world is ending.

What would the IRS think if I screamed bloody murder, when they did an audit on my business?

I sat with my accountant and smiled, while providing everything they needed. Everything was
in order, easy peezy.

Democrats need to sit down and STFU. If everything is in order, it will be easy peezy.

I get they feeling that lefties are worried that their elected officials are in danger, why is that?

Funny that when it's people crossing the border you expect them to follow strict rules and processes.

But when it's a billionaire auditing public services he has a vested interest in shutting down then suddenly law and procedure doesn't matter.

@Thrust Let's start with USAID - a powerful tool for US soft power. Soft power is what let's is exercise influence around the world without military force.

Soft power is what keeps us above places like China.

Musk has been trying to cozy up to China. His largest factory is there. He's Ben building up a number of other investments in China as well.

I'm not going to say that's explicitly why they are choosing to target it, but it's pretty damn convenient.

Regardless, ignore the vested interests part. Even if he's totally above board, why doesn't he have to go through the proper channels? Why does he get to break the law?

@ViciDraco i’m pretty sure it started as a cold war thing for the reasons you describe. Congress funds it, and them USAID administers the funds. I’m not saying there is no waste - but some of the “waste” is a matter of opinion, others are just headlines and if we knew the whole story it might not seem like a bad idea.

For example, Musk says 2 million for condoms. Sounds stupid?

But if you actually read the grant, it could have been 2 million to fight AIDS in some african country, one component of which was condoms, the rest might be for medicine or to run clinics. But we don’t know that.

How about billions to subsidize electric cars in the USA? GOP was all up in arms about that a few years ago…. Or billions paid to a contractor to send people to mars? Waste?

@ViciDraco Right, not just Liberal judges, but Unelected Liberal judges are trying to stop Trump,
and thwart Democracy. The people elected Trump to do this stuff. Democracy at its best.

I guess if Democrats ever take back the Whitehouse, we will try to stop everything they
do, even if it's in the best interest of the country.

@DogMan true democracy = majority rule. Generally a bad thing for society because majority = one more = minorities have zero power. I’m sure you were crying when Democrats passed the ACA on a party line vote.
