Are Democrats upset at Government audits?

It seems like the Government loves to audit private citizens and private business, but when
THEY get audited by the people, they act like the world is ending.

What would the IRS think if I screamed bloody murder, when they did an audit on my business?

I sat with my accountant and smiled, while providing everything they needed. Everything was
in order, easy peezy.

Democrats need to sit down and STFU. If everything is in order, it will be easy peezy.

I get they feeling that lefties are worried that their elected officials are in danger, why is that?

No. The concern is over how the "audits" are being conducted, and by whom. The DOGE is a completely unilateral operation - none of them are elected officials, none have been vetted by congress, and there seem to be no laws or regulations to how they conduct the audits. In other words, they are doing what they want and circumventing laws and court orders. There are no guarantees that those doing the auditing do not have a personal stake in the results.

Like it or not, the IRS is following laws passed by congress and signed by the president. And when your house is assessed for property taxes, you can appeal, and if you don't like it, you can vote the assessor out of office.

@trollslayer The Constitution and Federal Law permit graft, corruption, and wasteful government spending?
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@sunsporter1649 our system is set up that way, unfortunately. Part of the reason we have a senate.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@trollslayer Obviously the previous setup has been failing miserably, which leads us to a much better way of rooting out corruption, graft, and wasteful government spending

@sunsporter1649 can’t disagree that the DOGE is the result of a couple centuries of abuse, but i feel it doesn’t solve the fundamental “you scratch my back” problem of congress.

@trollslayer So you approve of the demonocrats doing their dardnest to hide all the corruption, graft, and wasteful government spending, eh?
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@sunsporter1649 that problem crosses party lines.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@trollslayer I don't hear you saying that graft, corruption, and wasteful government spending is prohibited by law, and should be investigated and if found to be inappropiate, halted

@trollslayer IRS Auditors are not elected, are they? And these people in DOGE, HAVE
been vetted.

Let me guess, you want the Government to audit themselves? Great Idea, as long as I can
Audit "MYSELF" next time.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@DogMan DOGE went through congressional hearings? Didn't see that.

IRS auditors aren't elected, but they are under the Department of the Treasury, and the Treasury secretary is approved by congress.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@trollslayer People do not go through congressional hearings to get security clearances.

Everyone in DOGE has a security clearance, and has been vetted. I believe through the FBI>
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@trollslayer And the DOGE auditors are under the elected President of the United States as part of the Executive Branch
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@DogMan I'm not talking about security clearances...
