Tomorrow is the 84th anniversary of the Attack on Pearl Harbor which propelled the US into WWII.

Take a moment for the men and women who died that and those who gave their lives during the war

While you're at it, don't forget to mention the US being the first and only Nation in the world to ever use atomic bombs on civilian populations which of course was in retaliation for Japan bombing a bunch of US Navy ships that were parked in Pearl Harbor.

3 US Navy ships were destroyed while 18 others were damaged and later returned to service, which means the US Navy only lost 3 ships during that entire attack on Pearl Harbor and those ships were parked at the time with virtually nobody on them.

On the other hand, 246,000 Japanese civilians were killed from the atomic bombs the US dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki following that Pearl Harbor incident.

Who exactly are you suggesting that we take a moment to remember 84 years ago as you so arrogantly cloak yourself with that hideous American flag, dude?

@swirlie well mr. Lefty, by the time we used the atomic bombs the Japanese were exterminating about 25,000 people per day.
Maybe you should look up the Rape of Nanking in China.
If we had invaded MILLIONS of Japanese would have been killed. The Japanese leaders were training men, women and children to fight with sharpened bamboo sticks.
Allied casualties were anticipated at a MILLION or more.
WOULD You have preferred that outcome

That's Ms. Lefty to you Patriot, oh great loser cloaked with a US flag who never actually served his country but likes to pretend that he was part of the action.

The reason President Truman unilaterally decided to drop bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was not because the Japanese were exterminating 25,000 people per day, it was because the US had declared war on Japan at the same time Germany and Italy had declared war on the USA.

Truman knew that if US Forces went into Japan, they would lose the battle big time because American Forces were spread SO thin between the Pacific and the war raging on in Europe.

Truman ended Japan's war with the USA overnight by dropping two UNTESTED atomic bombs onto Japan's civilian population, which killed 246,000 Japanese, compared to your claim of the Japanese killing 25,000 per day, the latter of which by the way had nothing to do with the USA.

Truman knew that the US would lose against the Japanese if traditional American ground Forces went into Japan because he also knew that the Japanese Army was superior to the US ground Forces in all respects.

To this day, the US government is still trying to repair it's self-destructed reputation around the world from that unilateral decision to bomb Japan that US President Truman had made which was a far worse mistake than even the one made by the US to go into Iraq looking for weapons of mass destruction.

From that day forward with Japan off America's back, the US Forces concentrated their efforts on Europe, not Europe AND Japan simultaneously.

@swirlie you kinda missed 5 May 1945 when Germany surrendered.
The bombs were dropped on 6 August and 9 August, 1945

@Patriot96

You kinda missed learning anything about WWII there Patriot! You and those you support are not as good as you think they are.
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
@swirlie if you dont like it in the US, you can move to cuba. There you might bhave running water and electricity for a couple of hours.
Healthcare is cheap. Doctors get paid about $ 60.00 per month
swirlie · 31-35
@Patriot96
At least I can move to Cuba if I want to, but you can't.

@swirlie the nice thing about socialism is that everyone is equally poor

@Patriot96
The bad thing about America's version of capitalism is that 1% of the US population is filthy rich and 99% of the population are working 2 jobs and using food stamps to get by. The USA is a nation with a very low standard of living and a very poor quality of life and if you think it isn't, then you simply don't know how the rest of the world lives in comparison.
@swirlie
Who exactly are you suggesting that we take a moment to remember 84 years ago
The people who actually died 84 years ago. Now if you want to morn the Japanese dying from the a-bomb, that will have to wait until Aug 6, then the OP can come to your post and drop a whataboutism-bomb on that

@swirlie uh, ..the war ended in Europe before it ended in Japan. Germany surrendered months before the bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

If the Japanese army was so superior to ours, why did they lose the war?
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
@swirlie youve never been to middlle east countries
swirlie · 31-35
@Patriot96
Of course I have! But I know for sure that you've never set a foot in any middle eastern country with a gun in your hand pretending to be a patriot to your country, right!
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
@swirlie more than you would ever know
swirlie · 31-35
@Patriot96
Actually, I DO know, Patriot. You've never served your country as a US Serviceman at anytime in your life. You know it and I know it as well.
