@ProfessorPlum77 In some ways, yes. Dad, born in 1902, was too young for WWI and too old for WW2. He did work in intelligence during the latter, and Mum knitted merino soldiers' socks and drove American officers while they were on leave in Brisbane.
Dad was a pacifist and would have willingly gone to prison or kneeled to be shot rather than fight to kill others.
The strange contradiction was that he was no pacifist at home, was often brutal to Mum, and once I stopped him drowning her in the pool.
Some people can be so incredibly hypocritical and unaware of it!
